Understanding Our Fees

At Lusk Orthodontics, we know that orthodontic treatment is a significant investment for every patient and family. Our goal is to provide the highest quality care by combining the expertise of our specialist orthodontist with the very best team training, equipment, and orthodontic materials.

We are committed to giving our patients the best value for money. This means we cannot compete on the lowest price, but we do keep our fees fair and reasonable for the level of service and excellence we provide.

How We Calculate Fees

Your fee will depend on:

• The complexity of your case.
• The type of appliance used (braces, aligners, lingual braces, etc.).

To keep things fair and standardised, we use international orthodontic indices such as the IOTN (Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need) and the ICON (Index of Complexity, Outcome, and Need). These scoring systems are also used by the NHS and HSE to measure treatment need and complexity.

In simple terms:

• Low scores = easier cases with shorter treatment times.
• High scores = more complex cases requiring longer treatment and higher fees.

What’s Included in All Treatments

• Fixed retainers (bonded to the back of the teeth).
• 3 sets of removable retainers (1 in use + 2 spares).
• All treatment visits and any emergency visits.

Additional Costs (if required)

• MARPE / CAD-CAM appliances: €2,500 (used for jaw expansion in certain cases).
• Extra removable retainers (for non-patients): €600 (set of 3 for both arches).
• Bonded fixed retainer (for non-patients): €200 per arch.
