Booking Your Orthodontic Consultation

Orthodontic Consultations at Lusk Orthodontics

If you are considering braces or orthodontic treatment, the first step is booking a consultation with a specialist orthodontist.

At Lusk Orthodontics, we welcome both self-referrals and referrals from dentists or other healthcare professionals. Many of our patients contact us directly to arrange an orthodontic assessment, while others are referred by their dentist, GP, ENT specialist, or other medical professionals.

Our clinic provides specialist orthodontic consultations for children, teenagers, and adults across Dublin and North County Dublin, including patients from Lusk, Skerries, Rush, Swords, Balbriggan, Malahide, and surrounding areas.

We are pleased to offer complimentary orthodontic assessments for both children and adults.
This initial visit allows us to meet you, assess your teeth, bite, and jaw relationships, and discuss whether orthodontic treatment may be beneficial.

What Happens During the Initial Assessment

During your initial orthodontic assessment at Lusk Orthodontics:

• A digital 3D scan of your teeth will be taken.
• Your teeth, bite, and facial balance will be examined.
• You will have approximately 20 minutes with Dr Erfan Salloum, Specialist Orthodontist.
• We will discuss whether orthodontic treatment may be recommended.

This appointment allows us to provide an initial overview of your orthodontic needs and discuss possible treatment options, such as:

• Braces.
• Clear aligners (aligner systems similar to Invisalign®).
• Lingual braces (hidden braces placed behind the teeth).
• Early orthodontic treatment for children.

If you decide to proceed with the recommended treatment, we will arrange a records appointment and a detailed consultation in order to plan your treatment properly.

Orthodontic Records and Treatment Planning

If you wish to proceed with treatment, we will schedule a records appointment where we collect the information needed to design your orthodontic treatment plan.

This typically includes:

• X-rays of the teeth and jaws.
• Clinical photographs of the face and teeth.
• Digital orthodontic records.

Following this, you will have a 30-minute consultation with Dr Erfan Salloum, where your treatment plan will be discussed in detail.

During this appointment, we will explain:

• Your orthodontic diagnosis.
• The recommended treatment approach and alternative options.
• Estimated treatment duration.
• Risks and limitations of orthodontic treatment.
• Home care, brushing, and diet during treatment.

Once you are happy to proceed, we will arrange a date to begin your orthodontic treatment.

Advanced Orthodontic Imaging (CBCT)

In some cases, additional diagnostic imaging may be required to fully assess the teeth, jaws, and facial structures. This may involve a low-dose 3D CBCT scan.

CBCT imaging is particularly useful for assessing:

• Impacted teeth.
• MARPE or skeletal expansion treatment.
• Second opinions for orthodontic treatment.
• Airway-related orthodontic assessments.
• Complex orthodontic cases.
• Cases requiring collaboration with other healthcare professionals, such as ENT specialists, oral surgeons, or restorative dentists.

If a CBCT scan is required, an additional fee of €150 applies.

Consultation Fees

While we offer complimentary initial orthodontic assessments, there is a fee for the next step, which includes the records appointment and detailed consultation.

This fee covers the orthodontic records required for treatment planning, including X-rays and clinical photographs, as well as the 30-minute consultation with Dr Erfan Salloum.

The typical consultation fee is €200.

The €200 consultation fee is usually deducted from your total orthodontic treatment fee if you proceed with orthodontic treatment at Lusk Orthodontics.

If CBCT imaging and analysis are required, the €150 CBCT fee is not deducted from treatment fees.

This structured approach allows us to maintain a high standard of diagnostic accuracy, particularly for complex orthodontic cases that require advanced imaging and careful treatment planning.

Your First Visit to Lusk Orthodontics

Before your appointment, we will send you medical forms and consent forms for X-rays and clinical images. Completing these in advance helps save time during your visit.

Our clinic is conveniently located in Lusk Village Quarter in North Dublin, with ample parking available, making your visit easy and stress-free.

When you arrive:

• You will be welcomed by our front-of-house team.
• You can relax in our reception area.
• You will be offered a cold beverage while you wait.

Shortly afterwards, you will be called into our clinical area where our team will begin collecting the records needed for your orthodontic assessment.

All orthodontic consultations at Lusk Orthodontics are carried out by Dr Erfan Salloum, Specialist Orthodontist and Clinical Lead.
